A word from the Editor
From the editor
changes ahead as companies
look for every opportunity to
cut costs and become as
streamlined as possible.
In this issue, I take a look over
a number of the new models
launched at the Intermat trade
show back in April with the
Liebherr R960 one of my
favourite releases, while surprises
including the Dressta TD40-E
highlight the development of
products over the years. The
LTM1400 from YCC is a stunning
release and is featured in the
Mammoet colours alongside
the latest generation of Volvo and
Case construction equipment.
Andreas continues his
weathering tutorial with a guide
to producing a convincing
diorama and I continue looking
into the latest plastic model kits
featuring construction themed
equipment along with my usual
look at the latest custom releases
from Gaz Evans and Jason Nikl.
Most model producers are now
in high gear developing models
for the Bauma trade show next
April and it will be interesting
to see what new models are
developed. In the meantime,
collectors have a wide choice
of some fine replicas, amongst
them, Caterpillar models from
CCM and the latest releases
from NZG and Conrad which
did not quite make it in time
for review. In future issues,
I am looking to include details
of upcoming shows and events
in the magazine that would be
of interest to our readers so
I am looking for your assistance.

imes are tough out
there and in the
current climate, model
manufacturers are
finding it tough going with
one casualty already closing its
doors this year after over 50
years producing models from
their factory in Spain. Joal
has worked with some of
the largest OEMs including
Caterpillar, Komatsu, JCB and
Liebherr and it is sad to see
them go. Rumours circulating
at the moment may suggest
other manufacturers are on
the edge, and I would not
be surprised to see further
