Discovering that Zen Moment...

Eidesche Klasse
(featured
next issue) as something
which initially seemed
daunting but, as he worked
on putting together those railings, put him in a ‘Zen’
state of mind in that he was able to completely
defocus from the world and become totally
immersed in the model making for a couple of hours
at a time, which proved to be an almost therapeutic
experience.
The point of my above ramblings? Simply this.
We should never forget that model making not only
provides us with a means of owning convincing
replicas of favourite craft and vehicles and honing
the skills needed to build and finish these but that
the hobby also allows us to take time out from life’s
challenges and be purely creative and expressive...
to be ‘in the moment’, as it were, and enjoy the heck
out of that moment.
Our writers have certainly enjoyed themselves in
creating reviews and builds for
Volume 2.
If you’d
like to join them and feel you could provide step by
step builds, plus, ideally, video footage of what
you’re creating, we’d be delighted to hear from you.
...Gotta forewarn, though – we currently pay
‘peanuts’ (we’re small... but perfectly formed) but
we’re fun to work with and love the subject every
bit as much as you do.
And that’ll be me shutting up now, leaving you
free to dive into the heart of this volume, enjoy the

experience one or two of those zen moments as you
