Why did you start to learn English?
I have started to learn English because it was an obligatory lesson in my primary school. Nowadays, I know that English is very important for me. I can speak with my friends from other countries and I have a job by the language knowledge. I can also go abroad and I know that I will be able to communicate with people.

I think that the most difficult thing in learning English is listening because if you don't understand something you won't do something correctly.

My language is mother language for me. I don't have a problem to speak or write in Polish, but I suppose that people from other countries can have difficulties in learning our language. Our languages have the different rules of grammar and other words and sounds.

DISCUSSION (2 MINUTES)
"Communicating by text and email is not as effective as writing letters".What do you think?
For writing letters rather than emails/texts
(examiner)
Against writing letters rather than emails/texts
• The language we use in texts and emails encourages bad grammar.
I think that if you use emails and texts you will be write masseges more corectly, because the programme or aplication will corrects or it only underlines your mistakes. When you write a letter you can mistake in grammar or misspeling. You often don't see an incorrect sentence and you send it with mistakes to your friend. It's embarrasing.
• It is easier to explain yourself clearly in a letter.
You writea lot of text or email per week and you can also explain ewerything clearly. Moreover, you do this in a simple and short way. Additionaly, it take less time and the addressee receive your message very quickly. it give you better communication each other.
• Texts and emails can easily be misunderstood.
Everyone knows that the communication is the best if we speek with each other face to face. But If we have to give some information immediately you will send text or email. I suppose that a lot of people understand the received messages. If your friend don't understand this you can phone to him or her.
• Writing a letter is much more personal.
Writing of emails can be personal just like writing letters. It depend only from addressee. It's enough to you use the proper words and phrases. I think that the emails and texts are only shorter version of letters.
• It’s natural that as technology progresses, methods of communication will change.
but we can't forget this form of writing. You must consider the fact that the letters you will be have at all time currently and in the future. The texts and emails aren't a constant thing. Your child or younger sibling can delate this message and you won't read this. what's then? moreover, the letters are amazing keepsake for you. It's nice to see this letter after years. The memories return to you.
• Young people are used to these methods, it’s only older people who find it a problem.
Young people can write emails, texts and letters so, they can use the different methods. The older people have attachment to writing the letters. Younger generation should respect this form of writing by older people. Of course, the youth can help them to write short message but we should remember about the letters. it give a lot of happiness them.
• People have a choice as to how they word their texts and emails.
You can also write everything in letters and short messages in the same manner. The only difference is form of writing. On the one hand you can write a letter on the paper and on the other hand you can send a message from a mobile phone or a computer.-
• Nowadays people don’t have time to write letters.
If you want to spend your time in other way you can write the letters. It’s an amazing activity. Writing the letters is more interesting than watching TV or surfing the internet. When you write the letter, take your children and go to the post office to send your information. You can spend more time with your family. You can also show your children this form of writing. They should know about it already exist.
