know) and to have a mainstream kit available at this
scale – with the option of an aluminium engine upgrade
set – is a dream come true for many of us.

make an old modeller very happy, and I sincerely hope
you release these babies in generous quantities, ’cos they
may not have working engines, but you don’t have to be
psychic to predict that they’re set to fly off the shelves
faster than

but up close an original
twenty-two inch
Eagle
model isn’t anywhere near as
detailed as one of the forty-four inch studio miniatures.
It doesn’t feature the joints that sit behind the leg struts,
for example, the fuel lines at the back are much
simplified and the pod windows are just stickers.
That’s why it’s very good news indeed that the release
that has the internet buzzing –
Round 2’s
upcoming
twenty-two inch
Eagle
kit, is based on one of the forty-
four-inchers and has been researched and planned by
Chris Trice and Daniel Prudhomme, two very capable
and meticulous gentlemen.
Why zero in on this forthcoming attraction in our
editorial write-up? Because, as with their 1/350th
original series
Star Trek
Enterprise
of four years ago,
Round 2
are about to present us with the holy grail of
genre modelling...
again.
