25matrix
A Photoshop action by Panos Efstathiadis

1. DESCRIPTION
The 25Matrix Photoshop action combines 25 of your images in a 5x5 matrix.
---------------------------------------------------------

2. HOW IT WORKS
You need to load 25 images prior to running the action. All images have to be of the same size. Since this is a memory hungry action I strongly recommend you work with small copies of your images. The final image will be 25 times bigger than the original ones. For example if you start with images of 600x400 pixels, the final image will be 3000x2000 pixels.
---------------------------------------------------------

3. THE FINAL PRODUCT
The final action product is a group of layers that contains 25 layers named in a spreadsheet manner. To select an individual layer simply right click on it and then click on its name (i.e. A1).
---------------------------------------------------------

4. THE WAY IMAGES ARE PLACED ON THE MATRIX
You can open the images in Photoshop, one-by-one: the first image you open is placed first in the first row, the tenth image is placed last in the second row, etc.

You can also batch-open the pictures. In MS Windows XP open the folder than contains the 25 images. Then click on the last image of the set, hold down your Shift key, click on the first image of the set and drag all 25 images to your PS workarea. Press play and everything will be placed automatically on the right matrix position.
---------------------------------------------------------

5. PLAYING WITH THE SAMPLE IMAGES SET AND THE BEVEL EFFECTS
In the zip file I have included 25 small images for you to experiment with. In the action set there are 3 bevel effect examples. Run the main action with these 25 small images and then try these 3 effects. To create your own effects select the 'Snapshot' history state on your history pallete (window > history). Then double click on layer A1, change the style. Right click on the A1 layer thumbnail and select copy styles. Finally link layer A1 to all other image layers and select paste style to linked.
