Do you ever have one of those moments where you realise the world is going mad?
One minute you’re proudly showing your friends shaky footage of what looks like
an avalanche of lego bricks but is actually your cool ‘VIDEO from the
mountains!’
Then you blink, it’s 2016 and suddenly bird’s-eye vistas of high places are sweeping
onto the internet, shot by folks with ying machines in their backpacks. Surely
we must be hitting some sort of golden age of mountain photography. And this
month there are three bits of proof. Firstly, the premiere of
Blencathra: Life of
a Mountain,
a lm that showcases a Lakeland favourite in a way never before
enjoyed by one peak. Turn to page 12 for details of a unique way to enjoy this.
Secondly, we have an interview with Murray Wilkie, a normal chap with an
extraordinary hobby: capturing Scotland’s mountains at their most spectacular,
