** all Inc and Dec are single crochet unless indicated otherwise. Pattern is worked in rounds without
joining, unless noted.

Common Sense:
When designing/crocheting amigurumi, gauge is not critical. Use a hook that you feel comfortable with
and that works best with the yarn of your choice. The smaller the hook size (or yarn size) the smaller the
finished item will be.
DO NOT try to make your item look exactly like anyone else’s item, in many instances you will be sorely
disappointed in your completed project. If you have 10 people crocheting the exact same item, you will
get 10 slightly different variations of the same project.
Crocheting should be FUN! and relaxing! If you are not enjoying a piece you are working on, then PUT IT
DOWN.
Head/Body
:
Make 1
*Head is made from top of head to base of cat.

With color or your choice
Using either the [ch 2, begin work in 2nd st from hook] or [magic circle] method to begin project, 6 sc in
st.
___ Rnd 2: 2 sc in each st around = 12 sc
___ Rnd 3: (sc, Inc) around = 18 sc
___ Rnd 4: (2 sc, Inc) around = 24 sc
___ Rnd 5: (5 sc, Inc) around = 28 sc
___ Rnds 6: work round even = 28 sc
___ Rnd 7: (6 sc, Inc) around = 32 sc
___ Rnd 8: work round even = 32 sc
___ Rnd 9: (7 sc, Inc) around = 36 sc
___ Rnds 10- 12: sc evenly around = 36 sc each rnd
___ Rnd 13: (7sc, Dec) around = 32 sc
___ Rnd 14: (6 sc, Dec) around = 28 sc
Begin to stuff firmly with polyfil
___ Rnd 15: (5 sc, Dec) around = 24 sc
___ Rnd 16: (Dec) around = 12 sc
Body (continuing from Rnd 16)
___ Rnd 17: work round even = 12 sc (last 2 rnds create 'neck')
___ Rnd 18: (sc, Inc) around = 18 sc
___ Rnd 19: work round even = 18 sc
___ Rnd 20: (2 sc, Inc) around = 24 sc
Continue to stuff with polyfil as you work, remember to stuff 'neck' area firmly or it will not support the
head. Hold body in cup of your hand and *shape* to create roundness while stuffing. Using smaller
amounts at a time will help/however it will take more time.

___ Rnd 22: (5 sc, Inc) around = 28 sc
___ Rnds 23 - 25: sc evenly around = 28 sc/ ea rnd
___ Rnd 26: (5 sc, Dec) around = 24 sc
___ Rnd 27: work round even = 24 sc
___ Rnd 28: (Dec) around = 12 sc
Last good chance to stuff with polyfil - leaving enough *dead space* at the base of doll to allow it to
stand.
___ Rnd 29: (Dec) around = 6 sc
Finish off and hide yarn tail inside the body.
Ear
:
Make 2
* this piece is NOT stuffed
Using same method you used to create head/body pieces, sc 6 times in st.
___ Rnd 2: work round even = 6 sc
___ Rnd 3: 2 sc in each st around = 12 sc
___ Rnds: 4 - 6: sc evenly around = 12 sc each rnd

Finish Off leaving enough remaining yarn to sew to head.
Tail
: Make 1
** Depending on yarn/hook sizes, it may or may not be necessary to stuff tail. If you choose to stuff, do
so while working the piece. Slst loosely where called for, as to allow a st on next rnd(s).
Using same method you used to create head and body pieces, sc 6 times in st.
___ Rnds 2-3: sc in ea st around = 6 sts/ ea rnd
___ Rnd 4: hdc in first 4 sts, slst loosely in remaining 2 sts = 6 sts
___ Rnd 5: sc in first st, hdc in ea of nxt 2 sts, sc in remaining 3 sts = 6 sts
___ Rnd 6: work round even = 6 sc
___ Rnd 7: sc in first st, dc in ea of nxt 2 sts, sc in remaining 3 sts = 6 sts
___ Rnd 8: hdc in first 4 sts, slst loosely in remaining 2 sts = 6 sts
___ Rnds 9 - 18: sc evenly around = 6 sc each rnd
___ Rnd 19: (2 sc, Inc) twice = 8 sc
___ Rnd 20: work round even = 8 sc
Creating the end bend in tail
___ Rnd 21: hdc in ec of nxt 5 sts, slst in remaining 2 = 8 sts
___ Rnd 22: sc in first st, hdc in ea of nxt 3 sts, sc in nxt st, slst in remaining 3 sts = 8 sts
___ Rnd 23: sc in first st, hdc in ea of nxt 3 sts, sc in remaining 4 sts = 8 sts
___ Rnd 24: sc in first st, hdc in ea of nxt 3 sts, sc in nxt st, slst in nxt st (this is NOT a complete rnd)
___ Row 25: turn (DO NOT Ch-1), skip first st and sc in each of nxt 4 sts
Finish Off leaving enough remaining yarn to sew to body.
Attach your tail and ears where they go. Then, using your yarn, ribbon and or embroidery floss, give your
kitty a purr-sonality.
Create your own style/flair with embellishments and facial expressions. Fishing line makes for good
whiskers. Eye shadows, Blushes and even sidewalk chalk can be used to add some *high lights*; but be
careful, apply lightly as it is next to impossible to remove makeup from yarn without washing
completely...
