have refreshed and redesigned the contents
and look of the magazine. This invigorating
process, which felt akin to having a spring
clean at home, began with us taking an
in-depth look at all our features to assess how
much they delivered. The merits of each page
were questioned and we considered whether
it should stay, was there anything missing and how we could improve it.
At the heart of all of this was you, the reader. We have taken note of
all your thoughts and comments and have woven your requests into our
pages. The result, I feel, is a richer, more varied and more interesting read.
One feature, however, that always seems to stand the test of time is
our wonderful House Clinic column (page 148), which is researched and
written by Celia Rufey. Even in this fast-paced era of the internet, she still
manages to surprise me with her ability to unearth small UK companies
that are creating fantastic products or providing brilliant services. Celia’s
